Hi, I’m Ella Cohen, a junior at Castilleja School and Co-Founder of the League of Young Women in Politics. I founded the League after learning about the significant disparity in political representation between women and men. After realizing how underrepresented women remain in government, I wanted to create a space where high school students could learn about politics, build confidence in their leadership abilities, and feel empowered to make a difference in their communities. Besides my initiatives rooted in policy, I also enjoy golfing, dancing, and catching up with friends over sushi and boba.

ELLA COHEN

Co-Founder & Executive Director

Hi, I’m Saina Priyadarshi, a junior at Castilleja School and Co-Founder of the League of Young Women in Politics. I started the League because I believe political confidence starts early, when young women are given the opportunity to ask questions, engage with different perspectives, develop their own ideas, and discover that their voices have value. Through the League, I hope to create a space where high school students can learn from one another, connect with mentors, and gain the confidence to become active participants and leaders in their communities. Outside of my work in politics and civic engagement, I enjoy playing volleyball, journaling, and baking.
