Our Story & Shared Mission
The League of Young Women in Politics was founded with two goals in mind: to bridge the critical gap in political representation for the next generation of girls, and to build their confidence to lead and have a voice. High school is a formative and pivotal time for developing leadership, yet many young women face barriers to entry including lack of mentorship and inaccessible resources — gaps that, if left unaddressed, can hold young women back from ever entering the political sphere.
We empower committed young women to take the first step by founding a Women in Politics club at their high school. Each club becomes a chapter of the League, instantly connecting its members to a nationwide community of peers, mentors, and shared resources — creating a supportive space where students can learn, lead, and amplify their voices.
Through that network, members share skills, collaborate across schools, and support one another on the path toward civic and political engagement. They grow into more confident leaders, finding and strengthening their voice along the way. We make the political world more accessible, equitable, and reflective of the women who are eager to shape it.
Our journey began as a small collection of motivated voices and has grown into a regionwide network of autonomous chapters, each dedicated to cultivating political literacy, confidence, and leadership — building a generation of young women who are informed, ready, and determined to shape the future of politics.
